MAKEUP REVOLUTION LONDON COLOUR CHAOS EYESHADOW PALETTE: REVIEW

Another one from the Makeup Revolution Eyeshadow Palettes... COLOUR CHAOS!!
I have been using multiple products from the brand 'Makeup Revolution ' and they seem to be quite impressive.

Makeup Revolution Colour Chaos Eye Shadow Palette

This is a set of 18 exclusive shades - 12 shimmers and 6 mattes. It is a beautiful collection of all bright and eye catching colors that catches your attention immediately.

Price:
Rs. 1350/- INR for 13gm

Packaging:
I love their packaging. It is complete black with alphabets in golden which makes it look classy and expensive. The pack is quite sturdy and travel friendly. The palette comes with a full sized mirror on one side and a small applicator. Although, I use my own brushes/fingers to apply the shades, the applicator can be used initially for the same.

Shades & Texture:

The MUR Colour Chaos palette consists of 18 shades both shimmer and matte. Talking about the shades individually:

#Gleam - This is a bright glittery silver, like it! It builds up quite well and is also perfect for brightening the corner of the eyes. I tried wearing it as a single color and also with other shades. This goes superb in both the cases!

#Wkd - A beautiful, soft & creamy blue shade with little bit of glitter. Pigmentation is good and its buildable.

#Tom Tom - This is the colour of the 'Tomato'.. a mix of orange and red. Blends quite easily and shows up beautifully on the eyes.

#Pink Obsessed - Again a beautiful shade that can be used with many other shades. It has a slight amount of shimmer which makes it shine on the eye lids.

#On A Mission - Interesting name! Its a gorgeous mix of blue and green. Appears to be metallic on the lids.

#Over Board - This shade looks so beautiful in the palette and I had assumed that it would brighten up any look, but this shade is quite a disappointment. It is very chalky and does not build up. The colour vanishes while blending and not at pigmented.

#Needed To... - Its a shimmery Magenta shade. Not quite pigmented but not as bad as Over Board.

#Me Three - Nice purple eye shadow. Takes time to build up but looks beautiful.

#Do It Now.. - The name makes you feel excited! Loved the 'Green Apple' shade. Not very pigmented but makes your eyes appear bright and big.

#Toxic Apple-tini - Quite shimmery and appear some what yellowish on your lids. Looks like some effort would be required to mix and match this shade so that it does not make you look all ill!!

#Ammunition - A stunning greyish purple shade. It requires some time to build up but looks amazing on the lids.

#Deliver Me - Less pigmented but buildable dark green shade. This can be used to balance out the bright colors in the palette and looks nice on brown eyes.

Swatches of 12 Shimmer shades

The rest 6 shades are matte which actually was a great disappointment. All the shades are flaky and not pigmented at all. These does not build up and requires a lot of effort to show them.

Swatches of 6 Matte shades

Pros:
 - Beautiful shades
 - Reasonably priced
 - Most of the shimmer shades are pigmented and looks beautiful on all the skin tones
 - No fall outs
 - Sturdy packaging with a big mirror and an applicator

Cons:
 - Few matte shades are not pigmented and does not show up on the eyes.

How it looks on me:
Used 'Do it now, Over-bored and Gleam' for the below look.

Conclusion:
I would recommend this palette to those who loves to play with colours and are ready to experiment.
When used with other combinations, these would look superb on the eyes.

MISS CLAIRE SOFT MATTE LIP CREAM: REVIEW

Hi Everyone!!

Well I am back after a very short break.. there were sudden travel plans and as usual was busy packing and travelling :)
I prefer to carry less makeup stuffs and ones which can be mixed & matched easily. Mostly neutrals become our travel buddies until there is a ceremony to attend. While packing for my regular trip, I picked up 2 of Miss Claire's lip creams and took along to check if they are actually what they claim.

While, I am still travelling I tried to take some time out to give a big shout out and my respect to these beautiful & amazing Soft Matte Lip Creams!!

Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Creams

It Claims:
"It's not lipstick, nor is it gloss, it's like nothing you've experienced before. It's lipstick cream that goes on silky but looks soft matte."

Price:
Rs. 195/- INR for 6.5gm

Packaging:
The lip creams comes in a transparent cylindrical shaped plastic bottles with a black cap/applicator on top. It is quite light weight and easy to carry. The bottles have the shade numbers written at the bottom and the color is easily visible through the transparent bottle. The applicator is light and helps spread the cream evenly on the lips.

Pigmentation & Texture:
This is the best part!! I am totally in love with its soft and light texture. The lip cream is so easy to apply and has a good pigmentation. The colour shows up beautifully in 2 swipes . While applying, this appears in creamy texture and takes time to settle down. Once it dries up, it turns completely matte and does not bleed at all!!

Swatch:

Pros:
 - Very light weight
 - Amazing pigmentation with just 2 swipes
 - Reasonable priced
 - A perfect dupe for high end brands like NYX & Colorbar
 - Travel friendly packaging
 - A perfect applicator with the bottle
 - Applies as a cream and dries up with a velvety matte finish
 - Does not get transferred after it dries up
 - Does not get settled into the fine lines after drying up
 - Stay on your lips for a good 6 - 7 hours without any bleeding
 - Does not dry up your lips at all!
 - Available in many beautiful shades that suits most of the skin complexions

Cons:
 - Biggest issue is its availability. It is sometimes available on few sites like Amazon , Flipkart but remains Out of Stock most of the time.
 - Dry lips might need some lip balm before applying it to keep the lips hydrated.

Availability in few cities:
 - Jain Brothers in Bengaluru
 - Beauty Palace, The Beauty Shop in Mumbai
 - Much More in Phoenix Mall, Pune

  How it looks on wearing:

NAIL ART: WITH EASY GEOMETRIC PATTERNS

I have always been a hugee fan of Nail polishes. Collecting them in various shades is something I have been doing since my school days (when it was strictly not allowed to wear nail polish in school !!)

I still remember those Friday nights when I used to apply my favourite shade, enjoy for 2 days and wipe it off on Sunday nights.

After all these years, my love for them still remains the same! I love to experiment with all the different shades and nail art.

Here, is 1 of my such experiments. I know I am not perfect yet, but I am WIP (Work In Progress) :)

These geometric patterns can be achieved very easily by using below things

  - 2 nail shades of your choice. I have used Pink & Grey
  - Top coat
  - Scotch tape
  - A pair of scissors

Apply 1 of the two shades as your base coat (I have applied pink here) and let it dry completely.
Apply two coats so that the color is thick and properly displayed.

Cut the scotch tapes into long stripes of thickness that you want and put them horizontally/vertically over your nails. Make sure that the base coat is completely dried and there are no air bubbles under the scotch tape.

After this apply the second shade all over your nails and let it dry.

Once the nail polish has dried, remove the scotch tape carefully (taking your own time). Now let the pattern dry out completely before applying the final coat.

Make sure to remove all the nail polish that is on the sides using nail polish remover and an ear bud.

N Voila!! we have our Geometric pattern nail ready !!

Nail paints from:
  - Bloody Mary from Colobar
  - Lychee Delight 82 from Nykaa
  - Natural Shine Instant Nail Finish from Sally Hansen

Let me know if you liked my experiment and would love to see more! I will be curiously waiting for the pictures of nail arts tried by you!!

VALENTINE WEEK DAY 4: READY IN 10 MINUTES WITH MIDNIGHT PINK

Nothing is better than having all the time you need to get ready! But, that never happens :(

So I have come up with this look which takes 10 minutes only ( I am serious Ladies!!) and with the least number of products. Another advantage: it definitely takes less time to clear the mess created while we were getting ready ;)

Products Used:

Face:
 - Started off with applying Lakme Absolute Skin Natural Mousse. This gives such a smooth and natural finish that I don't need compact to set this! So 1 powder less :)
- Covered all my dark circles and spots with Maybelline Fit Me concealer
- Added Maybelline Cheeky Glow Blush 'Creamy Cinnamon' on my cheeks to make them look naturally glowing.

Eyes:
 - Since there is no time to apply eye shadows and keep blending them, I created a thick winged eye liner using Lakme Absolute Forever Silk Eyeliner 'Jaded Mint'
 - Outlined my lower eyelids with Maybelline Colossal Kohl 'Jewelled Jade' to keep the same color all over

Lips:
 - Applied the beautiful Maybelline Colorshow Lipstick in shade 'Midnight Pink'.

FOREST ESSENTIALS INDIAN ROSE ABSOLUTE GIFT RANGE : REVIEW

Forest Essentials - Gift Ranges
So, I had visited the Forest Essentials store located at Phoenix Mall, Bengaluru. This was my first visit to the store and to tell you the truth, I was pulled by the aroma and the beauty of the store!!

Forest Essentials is a very famous traditional Skin care brand which uses the Science of Ayurveda at its fullest. It has multiple products related to: Facial care, Body care, Hair care & Wellness.

I had read a lot about the brand and was quite curious to explore it. I spent a good amount of time going through most of the products, looking at the beauty, content and knowing about its use.
The products are available in 8 different fragrance collections and this makes it quite tuff to decide which product to buy!!
Since, it was my first visit and I wanted to try alllll of the products, I decided to select from their Gift ranges.
This gives me the many advantages:
  - I will be able to try a complete range of products
  - It would be affordable when compared to buying the items individually
  - See the complete affect as I am using the complete range
  - I would get the opportunity to try other products apart from the names that I have already heard of.

After going through all the gift items, I decided to pick up the 'Travel Essentials Rose' pack. It is an assorted box of six convenient travel size bottles consisting of the entire Rose bath range. The gift packs comes in a very beautiful golden, green packaging. It made me feel like I have received a gift from someone (of course myself!!)

Travel Essentials Rose Range
The pack includes:
 - Bath & Shower Oil (they smell heavenly.. like you are surrounded with real roses!!)
 - Shower Gel (using this 10 minutes after applying the Shower oil helps retain the heavenly aroma                               for a very long time)
 - Hair Cleanser
 - Hair Conditioner
 - Facial Cleanser
 - Bhring Raj Ayurvedic Head Massage Oil (makes you feel relaxed and calms you down!)

I am really very happy and impressed with the Forest Essentials products. Though the price is on the higher side but the products are worth it. I still have a huge list of products that I wish to use and will revisit the store very soon :)

Please let me know if you think of any Forest Essentials that is worth a try!!
