MAYBELLINE DREAM VELVET SOFT MATTE HYDRATING FOUNDATION: MY THOUGHTS

Hello Everyone!!

Maybelline has been flooding the Indian market with new products non stop! The Fit Me Foundation has proved to be an amazing product and is one of my Go To one.
Today I am here with the next Foundation lanch i.e. the Dream Velvet Soft Matte Hydrating Foundation.

Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation

Product Claims:

Our 1st Gel Whipped Foundation.
Fresh new and flawless... Dream Velvet whips a fresh gel into a velvet-soft texture. Complexion is perfected and smooth with a soft matte finish, just like velvet. Skin feels fresh with lasting hydration.

Price:

Rs. 700 for 30 ml.

My Experience With The Foundation:

Packaging & Texture:

The foundation comes in a very simple, sleek tube packaging. It has a small nozzle to take the liquid out, hence controlling the quantity. The only issue here is that the tube is completely opaque and you cannot make out how much is left.

We know that both oily and dry skin have their own problems to handle. The Maybelline Foundation caters to both the skin issues. For people with dry skin like me, it keeps your face hydrated and does not cling to your dry patches at all. For oily skin faces, it does not make the face look oily and provides a beautiful matte finish with the required amount of hydration for the face. What else could you ask for??
It has a soft , velvety mousse like texture which is very lightweight and blends flawlessly. The foundation also fills up large, visible pores, giving a seamless finish. It stays for about 6-7 hours on my face, which I find is quite good. It provides a medium coverage but can be built up.

I placed my order on Nykaa as soon as I saw it in the 'New Launches' list. There are four shades available currently and I ordered No. 40 (Nude) for myself. However, this is a bit light for my skin tone and makes me look a little white. But I can still wear it by adding a bit of bronzer/concealer to it and it works perfectly!

Shade 40 (Nude)

Pros:

  • Does not make you face look dry or patchy
  • Travel friendly and affordable
  • Stays for a long time without fading
  • Feels lightweight giving a matte finish

Cons:
  • Less shades available in India

Rating:

4.5/5
